Shawna Huggins, M.A.

I love to work with kids and teens.  I have been tutoring students in one form or another for most of my adult life.  An educator in the Rogue Valley for over thirty years, I have taught for the Ashland, Eagle Point, and Illinois Valley School Districts as well as the Sociology/Anthropology, Extended Learning, and Youth Academy Departments at Southern Oregon University

A Southern Oregon native, I graduated from both Ashland Sr. High and SOU.   I then earned a master of arts followed by a PhD (ABD) in sociology at Washington State University.

In addition to my tutoring business, I teach for the University of Idaho Independent Study Department in the field of sociology/anthropology (since 1995). I have read scholarships for Rogue Community College, taught SAT prep workshops at SOU and throughout the valley, and I have presented many classes for the Youth Academy at SOU.

For me, one of six children and the daughter of two educators, teaching comes naturally. Making learning fun is my goal.
